Are you looking for an opportunity to grow into a Project Manager for Electrical Projects? Adams, Inc. has been in the electrical contracting business since 1988 - providing solutions for businesses and home owners in Southeastern Wisconsin. We are looking to add an Electrical Project Manager Apprentice to our team. In this position, you will play a dual role designed to provide hands-on experience in the electrical trade while developing foundational project management skills. You will spend approximately 50% of your time working in the field alongside experienced electricians and 50% in the office supporting project managers. This structure is intended to provide a comprehensive understanding of project flow, from initial planning through final execution. This is a five-year apprenticeship with a pathway to become a Junior Project Manager and ultimately a Project Manager. There is also a pathway to obtain your Journeyman Electrician License (applicable Department of Workforce Development polices/compliance, and all applicable laws regulating electrician licensing must be adhered to). Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Field (50%):

  • Assist licensed electricians with day-to-day tasks to gain practical trade knowledge.
  • Observe and participate in job site setups, installations, and safety procedures.
  • Learn to read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and job specifications.
  • Attend site meetings, walkthroughs, and inspections to understand on-site coordination.
  • Track material usage and job progress for reporting and documentation.
  • Assist Foreman with one week and two-week project scheduling.

Office (50%):

  • Support project managers with scheduling, procurement, budgeting, and job tracking.
  • Assist with project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and daily reports.
  • Help coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and field teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and smooth project execution.
  • Participate in project meetings and assist in maintaining accurate project records and communication logs.
  • Learn project management software and tools used for estimating, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Will obtain electrical hours in the field that will count toward potential electrical license

Minimum Education and Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis on Project Management or similar discipline
  • OSHA 10 completed within one year of employment
  • CPR/First Aid completed within one year of employment

Minimum Experience Requirements:

  • Familiarity with Project Management Software
  • Proficient with MS Office Applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
