NYSERDA Staff Augmentation Request Form Key Identifiers Staff Aug Bid SA.052-SA.053 Department Requesting Resource Initiative New Construction Programmatic need being met by this request Support multi-year projects that have been awarded through NYSERDA's open-enrollment program offerings with the New Construction Team, which focuses on the new construction, adaptive re-use, and gut rehabilitation of projects across market sectors. While the position will primarily support management of legacy open-enrollment housing and commercial projects, management of existing and future projects selected through competitive offerings such as the Building Cleaner Communities Competition (BCCC) for commercial sector projects and the Buildings of Excellence Competition (BOE) for multifamily projects may also be required. General project management, ranging from completing contracting tasks through to project termination or closeout, is also anticipated. Primary Responsibilities, and Minimum and Preferred Qualifications What skills are needed to be successful in this role? The candidate must: 1. Be self-motivated. 2. Have an ability to think strategically across the New Construction team as a whole while also maintaining a focus on project-specific details. 3. Possess the ability to communicate with customers, contractors, and internal staff effectively. 4. Be able to organize multiple workstreams and handle competing deadlines; and 5. Function at a high level in Microsoft Office applications, including advanced skills or proficiency with MS Excel, Teams, and SharePoint. Are there any specialized skills that must be present for the position to be successful? 1. Project management expertise, including setting and tracking deadlines, budget oversight, and deliverable management. 2. Ability to prioritize among multiple/competing deadlines 3. Experience with rebate/incentive programs 4. Have basic knowledge of clean, resilient, and carbon neutral ready building projects, including energy efficient equipment and renewable energy systems, architectural and engineering design, building system specification, and construction practices and timelines. 5. Familiarity with 3rd party building certification standards, such as Passive House and ENERGY STAR, and design strategies associated with those certifications. Manage current pipeline of projects submitted to New Construction Housing and Commercial legacy programs to completion; 2. Set deadlines and track progress for ongoing projects to submit deliverables, meet milestones, and advance toward completion; 3. Complete technical review of technical assistance provider scopes of work and project deliverables; 4. Coordinate closeout of terminated or completed projects; 5. Maintain extensive online database of legacy projects, including data entry, energy savings, project construction status, deliverable tracking, and invoice approval; 6. Engage with market actors, including building owners, developers, technical assistance providers, and designers; 7. Provide prompt feedback/follow up to inquiries received from project teams; 8. Participate in regular meetings with project teams; 9. Escalate project questions or concerns to internal staff as needed for resolution; 10. Participate in regular internal meetings with New Construction team staff, including fellow pipeline project managers as well as supervisors; 11. Assist in meeting periodic reporting requests; 12. Support business process improvement efforts.
