The purpose of this position is to provide professional level project management assistance to program experts delivering district projects. The position will work closely with the District Project Controller, the District Project Management Engineer, District Project Managers, the District Consultant Coordinator and District Functional Group Leaders to assist in management and delivery of projects within the district's State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) and Capital Highway Improvement Plan (CHIP).
Responsibilities include:
- Preparation and the review of professional technical documents, letters, memos, and reports for accuracy and consistency such as scoping and project change requests, early notification memos, project submittal forms, worksheets, project budgets and cost estimates, agendas, and minutes, etc.
- Review, analyze, and update various MnDOT databases and spreadsheets.
- Coordinate internal and public meetings
- Coordinate and communicate with local units of government, consultants, and MnDOT communications staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Two (2) years of professional level experience demonstrating all of the following:
- Experience supporting or coordinating projects with the ability to report on progress.
- Experience working with project management techniques, tools, processes, and data.
- Communication and writing skills sufficient to produce professional letters; employ in-person, phone, and email communication etiquette.
- Math skills sufficient for computing percentage, item costs, and quantities.
- Experience planning and scheduling project timelines sufficient to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience using computer applications including word processing, databases, and spreadsheets (Such as MS Office: Word, Excel, Power Point, email, and other computer programs necessary for the work).
Education:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in construction management, project management, business administration, or closely related degree substitutes for one (1) year of professional experience.
