Role Summary The Project Executive will provide overall direction and leadership for the assigned work program across all phases of the project lifecycle. This position is responsible for providing strategic direction, operational excellence, financial management, team leadership, and relationship management with all stakeholders. The role involves driving contracting, business development, and comprehensive risk management to meet or exceed all contractual and financial targets. All activities will support JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values. Key Role Responsibilities - Core Safety: Leads all aspects of the company's safety culture and creates awareness by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others. Corporate Leadership: Assists senior management with strategy development; supports company-wide initiatives, best practices, and policies within the work program. Strategy Development: Provides strategic direction to team members aligned with broader work program strategies across all project phases. Client Relationship: Acts as the primary client relationship executive at a leadership level, understanding the client deeply. Builds and maintains long-term relationships with target clients to generate new business and repeat wins. Business Development: Develops strategies to increase work program growth, identifies opportunities, evaluates market environment, participates in sales activities, and leads contract negotiations to maximize margins and revenue. Risk Management: Serves as escalation point for project, financial, business development, contractual, and client relationship risks. Resolves issues throughout the project lifecycle and conducts risk assessments. Subcontractor Strategy: Builds relationships with subcontractors, develops selection processes, and executes subcontractor strategies for project success. Preconstruction: Participates in client discussions, leads internal teams, and collaborates with external partners on contractual obligations. Project Schedule: Oversees project review components to ensure contractual obligations are met and team accountability. Resource Management: Ensures staffing levels are adequate and adapts resources as needed. Community & Industry: Builds community and industry relationships, represents the organization, and promotes company interests. Diversity: Promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion, ensuring policies are proactively implemented. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to perform work accurately, completely, and timely. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Effective presentation skills. Proficiency in MS Office and project management software like CMiC. Deep knowledge of project processes, construction technology, and Lean principles. Ability to manage budgets, maximize profitability, and lead successful projects. Proven track record of leading multiple complex projects and teams. Education Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field. Equivalent relevant experience considered in lieu of degree. Experience 10+ years in construction management. 5+ years in people management. Experience leading multiple large or complex projects. Valid driver's license, ability to lift up to 25 pounds, travel required, and willingness to work non-traditional hours. The base salary for the Project Executive - Colorado Springs role ranges from $178,000 to $222,000, depending on experience, with potential for higher compensation for exceptional candidates.
