Project Estimator / Manager / Engineer - Northstar Environmental Services : Job Details

Northstar Environmental Services, LLC is growing and looking to hire future leaders to bolster and support our continued growth. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Estimator / Manager / Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and project management, with the ability to analyze environmental remediation project specifications and develop accurate cost estimates. There are two office locations to utilize in Pleasantville, NJ and Bordentown, NJ. Work schedule is Monday through Friday with flexible hours to be mutually agreed upon. This role requires the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure project success. Pay rate is commensurate with talent and experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial evaluation on potential projects

• Provide support in the development of proposals and bids for new projects.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, and overhead costs.

• Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate pricing.

• Initiate awarded projects

• Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather data for estimates.

• Review contracts and specifications to identify potential risks and opportunities for cost control.

• Enhance relationships with vendors and subcontractors to secure favorable pricing.

• Manage and monitor ongoing project budgets throughout the lifecycle of the project, ensuring adherence to cost control measures.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the following:

• Intermediate to Advanced level in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and Outlook)

• Strong organizational skills

• Accuracy and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Ability to work well under pressure with strict deadlines, despite numerous interruptions.

• Proven experience in construction estimating, with a solid understanding of construction processes and methodologies.

• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members.

• Familiarity with contracts, pricing strategies, and cost control principles in a construction context.

• Previous experience working on construction sites is preferred.

• Background in construction management or project management is an asset.
