Job Overview

GEI's Huntington Station, NY office on Long Island is seeking a Civil or Environmental Engineer to perform a broad range of engineering duties supporting our environmental, construction, and geotechnical business lines. Under supervision of senior staff, this individual will support ongoing office and field work.

Responsibilities
  • Support environmental site assessments (Phase I/II), investigations, test borings, well installations, sampling, aquifer testing, pilot tests, OM&M, and technical oversight of subcontractors.
  • Assist with NYS BCP and NYC VCP projects.
  • Support remedial construction management, including coordination, review, project tracking, and client interaction.
  • Manage data, prepare and review work plans and reports, and assist with presentations and proposals.
  • Develop investigation and remedial strategies and design remediation systems.
  • Interact with subcontractors, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering; M.S. preferred.
    • 4-8+ years of related experience.
    • FE or PE certification is a plus.
    • Ability to perform field work.
    • Excellent report writing and communication skills.
    • Willingness to travel as needed.
    • 40-hour HAZWOPER training.
    • OSHA 10-hr and 30-hr Construction Safety certifications are a plus.
    • NYSDOL & NYC Asbestos Inspector/Investigator certification is a plus.
    • Valid U.S. driver's license.
