Project Engineer – Interior & Exterior Construction

Location: Tampa, FL

Compensation: $67,000 – $90,000 (DOE) + Annual Bonus

Our client is a national general contractor specializing in interior renovations and exterior restoration projects across the US and the Caribbean that is looking for Project Engineers in the Tampa, Florida area. With 25+ years of experience and a perfect track record of never missing a completion date, they focus on hospitality and commercial sectors, particularly Marriott brand conversions. Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate records of all contract changes, work orders, back charges, and internal adjustments
• Support the processing of change requests in accordance with company procedures under Project Manager direction
• Generate purchase orders in alignment with subcontractor bids, project documents, and company policies
• Maintain current CPM (Critical Path Method) schedule on-site as directed by the Project Manager
• Organize and maintain thorough documentation of submittals, RFIs, schedule correspondence, material/equipment logs, and contract changes
• Prepare and submit internal and external reports in a timely manner as required by management and contract documents
• Supervise Project Clerk (if assigned) or perform related administrative duties in their absence
• Assist Superintendent with scheduling subcontractors, equipment, and material deliveries
• Monitor and expedite critical items such as submittals, materials, and cost documentation
• Maintain up-to-date record documents and manage project closeout process
• Track and ensure compliance with all contractual and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• 0-3 years+ construction experience (project engineering, field engineering, or APM background preferred)
• Basic understanding of construction methods, industry terminology, and sequencing
• Proficiency with scheduling and project management software is a plus
