This role is responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing engineering and construction projects within Western New York and Northwest Pennsylvania. The Project Engineer will develop project scope, prepare regulatory permits, oversee construction work, manage costs, and ensure compliance with federal and state requirements.During construction season, this position involves significant field work and travel, though primarily day trips. The role offers a collaborative office-based work model, with eligibility for remote work up to two days per week when scheduling allows.Role & Responsibility:Tasks That Will Lead To Your Success
- Develop overall project scope based on operational requirements, field conditions, and customer demand.
- Determine construction workspace limits and prepare construction alignment sheets.
- Prepare regulatory permit applications and FERC filing exhibits.
- Develop project schedules and oversee cost tracking.
- Specify and design materials to meet standards and regulatory codes.
- Coordinate material procurement and prepare Requests for Proposal (RFPs).
- Prepare bid documents, analyze bids, and award construction contracts.
- Visit construction sites to monitor progress and coordinate with contractors and inspectors.
- Assist construction managers with on-site project oversight.
- Implement project-specific controls, procedures, and quality systems.
Skills & ExperienceQualifications That Will Help You Thrive
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or a related Engineering discipline required.
- 3-5+ years of relevant engineering experience, ideally in construction or regulatory-focused work.
- Strong project management skills, including scheduling and cost control.
- Familiarity with regulatory agencies such as PHMSA, FERC, PUC, PSC, DEP, or DEC .
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to multitask.
- Proficiency with engineering software tools and strong computer skills.

- Field Work: Significant during construction season; primarily day travel within WNY and NWPA.
- Work Schedule: Primarily in-office, eligible for remote work up to two days weekly when feasible.
