General Job Description:

This individual must function as a technical project leader for the organization, responsible for expediting the process flow of jobs through the shop from post-order entry to shipment. All work must be performed in a timely and cost-effective manner. The engineer is required to perform complex engineering and/or design tasks that involve developing new and improved techniques and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Intermediate level professional
  • Two or more years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Five or more years of manufacturing/sheet metal/welding fabrication knowledge
  • CNC machining/programming experience is a plus
  • A.S. Degree in Engineering required; Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Degree (B.S.) preferred
Specific Duties:
  • Develop and manage all phases of the quoting process, including creating a Bill of Materials for purchasing, calculating material usage, etc.
  • Perform project management duties such as cost estimating, manufacturing engineering, and ensuring quality production and timely shipping of customer orders.
  • Create detailed drawings for flat blank layouts using CAD software.
  • Monitor actual job costs against quoted costs.
  • Drive process improvements to reduce costs.
  • Assist in writing process sheets (Travelers) for jobs.
  • Update programs with any modifications from previous runs.
  • Design machining, inspection, and assembly fixtures.
  • Provide technical guidance to operators as needed.
