This role is hybrid remote with 60% monthly in-office presence in Mount Prospect, Illinois. (3 days in office per week).

  • Lead the engineering effort as a member of a cross-functional project teams (Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Project Purchasing, Quality, and Manufacturing) to develop new power tools or power tool accessories.
  • Responsible for the design, development, validation, and execution of new products for the consumer market.
  • The Project Engineer is responsible for the engineering activities of the project(s) to achieve successful market introduction including targets for timing, performance, and financial targets.
  • Use creativity and applied engineering theory and principles to investigate and solve design and engineering problems.
  • Work closely with the development team to create solutions for customer needs.
  • Develop or assist in the development of test plans.
  • Track and oversee test plan and assure testing is done properly and is relevant.
  • Assist the Project Leader, Product Owner or Engineering Manager in directing and monitoring the project activity.

Qualifications: Qualifications

Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering

Skills/Knowledge/Expertise:

  • Possess an in-depth understanding of Design, Application and Marketing trade-offs.
  • Demonstrates ability to design and successfully introduce a new project into production, on time, at cost, with quality and overcoming obstacles.
  • Detailed knowledge of the components and processes used in the power tool line of products.
  • Major contributions in creating new products, patents and cost-effective designs.
  • Demonstrates ability to handle new types of products.
  • Proficient with CAD software, preferably Creo Pro/Engineer
  • Proficiency with desktop applications like Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with agency and regulatory requirements for product development
  • Knowledge of design for plastic injection molding, die casting, machined parts, sintered and powder metal processes.
  • Knowledge of AC and DC motors
  • Design for Manufacturing

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $122,500 - $135,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc.
