About the Role:
Suzano is expanding its operations in the U.S. and is seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to join our team at the paper manufacturing facility. This position plays a crucial role in managing and executing key modernization and maintenance projects, including the installation of new equipment and improving existing systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, engineering design, and budgeting, with experience working on both small and large-scale industrial projects.
What You're Going to Do:
Responsible for developing, planning, and executing projects as part of the Corporate Engineering team, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational excellence.
Lead and execute modernization projects, including the installation of new digesters and disc filters.
Oversee small maintenance projects such as pump base rebuilds, tank work, and equipment replacements.
Manage project schedules, budgets, and cost-saving initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
Apply engineering knowledge (mechanical, electrical, or chemical) to design, evaluate, and improve systems and equipment.
Provide technical guidance and support for ongoing projects.
Ensure projects are in line with safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
Develop project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective solutions.
Create and manage detailed project schedules, ensuring timelines are met.
Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as needed to keep projects on track.
Work closely with internal teams to align on project goals and timelines.
Effectively communicate with stakeholders and project teams to ensure smooth project execution.
Provide regular project updates to leadership and key stakeholders.
What We Expect from You:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in project management, particularly in industrial or manufacturing environments.
Hands-on experience with budgeting, scheduling, and executing projects in the paper industry or similar sectors.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Power BI knowledge is a plus.
Experience with project scheduling, budgeting, and cost management.
Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience in the paper industry or related industrial settings is highly desirable.
