Project Director - Digital (Hybrid, NYC) Flipside Group, part of Weber Shandwick, is seeking a Project Director to lead the delivery of complex digital product development projects, spanning websites, mobile apps, XR experiences, and AI-driven platforms. This role offers the opportunity to work in a closely knit, dynamic team supported by a global network, delivering world-class solutions for a genuinely international client list. You will be responsible for guiding multi-disciplinary teams-including designers, developers, strategists, and client services-through the full product development lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a senior, client-facing role that requires both strategic oversight and hands-on delivery management. Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership - Own the delivery of digital build projects from inception through launch, ensuring alignment on scope, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Process Management - Define, implement, and adapt Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid workflows to fit the needs of each project; establish and enforce best practices, templates, and documentation standards.
  • Client Engagement - Act as the senior day-to-day contact for clients, building trusted relationships and ensuring transparency on progress, risks, and solutions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner closely with internal and freelance teams across design, development, strategy, analytics and finance to maintain integration and consistency.
  • Resource & Budget Oversight - Lead SOW creation, track deliverables against scope, manage budgets, and handle change management processes.
  • Risk & Issue Management - Maintain and review project risk/issue logs; resolve conflicts quickly without compromising quality or morale.
  • Technical & Quality Alignment - Ensure deliverables meet technical feasibility and adhere to quality assurance processes; oversee bug tracking and resolution in tools such as Jira.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience: 5+ years in project management, with substantial experience delivering web, mobile, and digital platform builds.
  • Methodologies: Proven ability to manage both Agile and Waterfall projects, blending approaches as needed.
  • Technical Understanding: Solid grasp of web and mobile technologies, system architecture considerations, and digital product lifecycle management.
  • Budget Management: Expertise in scoping, pricing, and managing large-scale budgets and multi-workstream programs.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; able to engage effectively with clients and internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • Tools: Proficiency in collaboration tools such as Microsoft Office, Smartsheets, Jira, and other project tracking systems.
  • Soft Skills: Strong client-facing presence, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and comfort in fast-paced environments.
