Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking a Project Controls Specialist with a solid project control function background. The Project Controls Specialist is a key point of contact for numerous internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for all aspects of the position as outlined below.
Your Key Responsibilities
Coordinate with both internal and external business processes and blend the requirements of both
Provide budget, contract, and financial management support to Project Managers
Understand contract terms and assist Project Managers with project life cycle maintenance per client requirements and company guidelines
Coordinate with project accounting staff to ensure invoices are submitted per established timelines and contractual requirements
Audit project management reports for financial impacts and provisions for gross profit optimization
Assist Project Managers with monthly forecasts and financial estimates
Support Project Managers with project/program enterprise structures (e.g., Work Breakdown Structures, and Cost Breakdown Structures as part of project budgeting and setup)
Perform and manage all budget and cost control functions
Prepare month-end reports, variance reports, and ad hoc reports as required
Perform analytics and interpret project/program data for continuous improvement
Train, manage, or mentor others as required
Administer the use of Project Management Information Systems in areas such as budget/cost control, document control, and reporting
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Experience in all aspects of budget and cost controls, including budgeting, forecasting, and earned value management
Thorough understanding of project accounting methods and requirements
Solid understanding of principles and methods related to Earned Value Management
Superior computer skills in the Microsoft Office Suite (specifically desired: expertise in MS Excel)
Experience with MS Project and SQL /SharePoint Applications is a plus
Proven organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
Ability to see the big picture and use common sense to make decisions
Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability and desire to build trusting, long-term relationships
Experienced in working with and providing support to diverse groups at all levels of management
Education and Experience
Relevant technical college graduate or BS degree, or equivalent
3+ years of experience in a project/program control, project management, or project accounting position
Experience working in a consulting or project management environment is strongly preferred

Pay Range:
• Locations in CO, HI, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas - Min Salary $ 70,000.00 - Max Salary $ 101,400.00
• Locations in NYC & CA (Bay Area) & NJ (RP) - Min Salary $ 80,100.00 - Max Salary $ 116,200.00
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
