Location: Galveston, TX with occasional travel required.

SLS is seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager to join our fast-growing Federal Division, focusing on civil infrastructure projects for clients such as NAVFAC, USACE, and AFCEC.

The Project Controls Manager will lead a small team responsible for project controls across the division, including scheduling, change management, earned value management, and financial tracking.

Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Division President of SLS Federal Services.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar software.
  • Ensure compliance with contract specifications related to scheduling, billing, and project controls.
  • Assist project teams with work breakdown structures, milestone planning, and resource management.
  • Monitor and analyze project budgets, including costs, forecasts, and cash flow.
  • Maintain and revise project budgets, forecasts, and earned value metrics.
  • Track contract deliverables and deadlines.
  • Oversee division's project backlog and future pursuits to ensure project controls support.
  • Contribute as a subject matter expert during contract proposals.
  • Build rapport with project teams to promote project controls as a force multiplier.
  • Identify resources needed for team growth, including personnel, consultants, and software.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Division President.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management; Master's preferred.
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in project controls, with leadership roles.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6; experience with MS Project, Procore, Heavy Bid is a plus.
  • Experience with USACE, NAVFAC, or AFCEC contracts is highly desirable.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship and successful background/security checks required.

Physical Demands:

  • Manual dexterity, visual and auditory acuity required.
  • Repetitive motion, sitting, standing, lifting up to 15 pounds, bending, pulling, and carrying may be involved.
