SUMMARY:
The primary duties of the Project Controls Engineer requires a highly energetic, detail oriented individual who will assist the Bid Manager(s), Project Manager(s), and Superintendent(s) with planning, scheduling, monitoring, BIM, and VDC for all aspects of major design, design/build and construction management projects. The Project Controls Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties.
EXPECTED RESULTS:
- Preparation of a comprehensive CPM project schedule which provides all levels of management accurate data for decision-making and forecasting.
- Update, analyze impacts, and communicate schedules to project teams
- Able to communicate effectively at every level of the Project Team. Must be able to facilitate impromptu meetings to address scheduling issues and/or concerns.
- Delight and serve internal and external customers at all levels.
- Meet with owners and represent BEC and the capabilities of the BEC Controls Program
- Be familiar with and assist with BIM and VDC services for project needs
- Grow the BEC Controls program capabilities to meet the company's needs for today and tomorrow
- Maintain Part 107 Drone Pilot Certification
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support Pre Construction and Estimating department with Level 1 and 2 CPM schedules for procurement of new projects.
- Prepare baseline schedules and perform schedule analysis.
- Regular schedule update analysis and time impact analysis, for BEC and subcontractor schedules.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractor schedules inputs and updates to master schedule.
- Coordinate activity between engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning
- Resource, commodity, and cost loading, trending, forecasting, critical path control and analysis
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports on status and progress of project(s).This may include many off and on-line trackers of physical progress.
- Monitor, forecast, and report project execution changes and determine impact on the project
- Manage and maintain drone equipment
- Develop drone flight plans and obtain necessary waivers/permits, as well as process and analyze data from drone flights
- Perform 3D Laser scanning and register laser can point clouds
- Develop and review BIM models
- Create preliminary models/renderings for pre construction support
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- A four year degree in Construction Engineering and Technology, Civil Engineering or related field of study
- A minimum of four (4) years' experience in Construction or Project Controls with emphasis in Project Scheduling
- Experience in Primavera P6
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal and listening skills
- Strong training skills for one on one and large group training
- Be willing to help in other areas of the business during slow times
- Ability to travel and work at job site locations
