What role you will play in our team We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Engineer with 3-15 years of expertise to join our dynamic global team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting global projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This position requires a deep understanding of project management principles, cost control, scheduling, and risk management.
What you will do Project Planning and Scheduling: Ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines. Cost Management: Monitor and control project budgets. Track expenditures and forecast future costs. Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Performance Reporting: Generate regular progress reports and provide performance metrics and updates to stakeholders. Change Management: Manage project changes and variations, ensuring they are documented and communicated effectively. Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with business line, contractors, and internal teams, addressing concerns and providing updates. Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with industry/ExxonMobil standards and regulatory requirements, implementing quality control measures. Contract Administration: Oversee contract execution and compliance, managing documentation and amendments. These functions are essential to support the successful execution of global energy projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
About you Skills and Qualifications
Technical Skills: 3 – 15 years of prior experience; energy experience is preferred. Minimum 3 years' experience in Project Controls. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, SAP). Strong understanding of cost control and budgeting techniques. Expertise in risk management and mitigation strategies. Familiarity with contract administration and procurement processes. Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements in the energy sector. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data and generate actionable insights. Strong problem-solving skills to address project challenges. Proficiency in performance reporting and metrics analysis. Behavioral Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels. Experience in developing and maintaining project schedules. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Flexible to travel to project sites if needed. Geographically mobile & willing to travel and relocate globally. Preferred knowledge / Skills / Abilities Bachelor's Degree in engineering with GPA 3.5 or above. Demonstrated work experience in oil/gas, client organizations, and mega projects. Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, MBA). Demonstrated success in managing projects from early to late stages of varying sizes. Knowledge of schedule and risk analysis tools like Acumen Fuse and PERT master. Experience using cost estimating tools such as Aspen tech, ACCE, etc. An ExxonMobil career is one designed to last.
