Purpose: Working closely with Project Director, the Project Assistant will help in the management and coordination of the Rehabilitation Service Administration (RSA) long term training grant.
Role, duties, and responsibilities of the position: The incumbent will assist faculty in meeting the goals of the RSA federal grant. The selected candidate will help with the recruitment and scholarship disbursement of 8 RSA scholars per year. In addition, this person will coordinate and participate in the scholar events and related meetings. The new hire will assist in meeting the grant program evaluation goals by maintaining the scholar files with payback agreements, by collecting the time and effort reports of RSA faculty, and by gathering scholar data necessary for grant reports.
Education: The selected candidate for this position will preferably be a current or former PhD student at Mercer University from the Counseling Department and will preferably have a minimum of masters degree in Counseling, or Human Sciences, or Psychology or related field. Bachelors degree required.
Experience: The candidate for this position should have experience in office management, project management and project coordination. Experience in data collection and assessment software is also required. The candidate should demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills especially with email and telephone follow-up with clients. The selected candidate will have extensive experience with budget management. Experience with event planning and implementation required. Compensation: $17 per hour for 18 hours per week contingent upon grant funding renewal
