Overview National Award-Winning Studio is actively seeking a Project Architect/Project Manager for their San Luis Obispo office. Essential Duties The Project Manager/Project Architect leads project teams in collaboration with Partners and Chief Executives to deliver exceptional architectural projects from programming through closeout. This role demands excellence in client service through comprehensive management of multiple project budgets, scope, schedules, and team staffing. Success in this position requires a creative and flexible approach to design and construction challenges. Key ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership & Coordination
  • Lead and coordinate weekly meetings with production teams and consultants
  • Generate and manage task lists and project timelines
  • Coordinate jurisdictional meetings, submissions, and code reviews
  • Facilitate owner coordination meetings and client communications
Technical Direction
  • Establish and coordinate structural gridlines with engineering teams
  • Direct and review reflected ceiling plans, floor plans, and building sections
  • Identify and develop appropriate wall sections, floor plan details, and partition types
  • Ensure compliance with district standards and specifications
  • Coordinate clash detection processes
Documentation & Quality Control
  • Review and approve shop drawings and submittals
  • Coordinate specification development at 50%, 75%, and 95% completion stages
  • Verify dimensions, schedules, and technical requirements
  • Provide quality control through verification and sign-off on all sheets
  • Oversee special architectural elements such as main entries
Interdisciplinary Coordination
  • Collaborate with MEP engineers to ensure appropriate space requirements
  • Coordinate with foodservice specialists on program requirements
  • Direct production staff in implementing design solutions
  • Review exterior elevations with design teams
Here's What You'll Need:
  • Licensed Architect (preferred)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture (required)
  • 5+ years of professional experience (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Revit
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
