Job Description

About Eurofins Discovery

The Eurofins Discovery team combines expertise from multiple acquisitions, supporting global drug discovery programs with a broad portfolio of high-quality products and services across eight operational sites worldwide.

IT Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement software solutions to automate laboratory processes, improving efficiency and accuracy.
  • Manage IT projects, including deploying new systems, upgrades, and integrations, ensuring compliance and research needs are met.
  • Support research staff with training and troubleshooting of laboratory software, hardware, and automation tools.
  • Collaborate with research teams to understand their IT needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Maintain and administer laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and laboratory instrumentation, ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Stay updated on emerging IT and scientific research technologies, recommending enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and cybersecurity standards.
  • Coordinate with vendors for procurement and support of IT equipment and services.
  • Document IT procedures, configurations, and standards to facilitate knowledge sharing.
Qualifications

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, IT, bioinformatics, or related field.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in IT roles within scientific research or laboratory environments, preferably in pharma, biotech, or CRO industries, with programming and scripting skills.
  • Support and troubleshooting experience with laboratory infrastructure and software.
  • Experience with LIMS, scientific data management, and laboratory instruments.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as R, VBScript, or Python.
  • Knowledge of software engineering, networks, and databases.
  • Basic understanding of .NET and/or Java programming.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.

Additional Information

The position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates near San Diego, CA are encouraged to apply.

  • Salary: $75,000 - $85,000
