PROGRAMMING ENGINEER - (CIVIL ENGINEER V) - State of Illinois : Job Details

This position is accountable for providing overall direction, guidance and supervision for all Programming Section activities including: developing/monitoring the Annual and Multi-Year Highway Improvement Program, traffic counting and forecasting, cost estimating for all transportation facility improvements, and the collecting and reporting of data on the physical characteristics of existing transportation facilities. Essential Functions Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the varied activities of the Programming Section. Coordinates the sections work with all other Program Development Units as well as other district staff and related central office personnel. Assigns, trains, motivates and evaluates subordinate personnel. Formulates and monitors Annual and Multi-Year programs based on current and anticipated needs. Participates in determination of project scope in view of needs and limited resources. Evaluates past program effectiveness in resolving systems deficiencies.
