Programming Analyst - Robert Half : Job Details

We are seeking a skilled IT Programmer with experience in application development, data management, and secure system integration. The ideal candidate will have strong VB.Net, SQL Server 2017 (with Management Studio 17.3), and Crystal Reports skills, with exposure to EDI and data transformation. This role requires the ability to develop and maintain a secure portal to access our production system, produce clear technical documentation, and support technology initiatives in a manufacturing or consumer products environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain applications using VB.Net and SQL Server 2017 (Management Studio 17.3).
• Create and customize Crystal Reports for business reporting needs.
• Support and enhance EDI integrations with trading partners.
• Perform data transformation and ensure data accuracy between systems.
• Develop and maintain a secure web portal for accessing production systems.
• Prepare and maintain clear, comprehensive technical documentation for applications, integrations, and processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application, integration, and data issues.
• Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and best coding practices.

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience in software/application development.
• Proficiency in VB.Net, SQL Server 2017, SQL Server Management Studio 17.3, and Crystal Reports.
• Exposure to EDI processes and data transformation tools.
• Strong technical documentation skills, including process flows and system specifications.
• Experience creating secure, user-friendly portals for production or ERP systems.
• Prior experience in manufacturing or consumer products companies required.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Must be a resident of the Metro NYC area and able to work on-site.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of ERP systems used in manufacturing.
• Understanding of system integration and automation processes.
• Familiarity with security protocols for data access and sharing.
