Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Title: Programmer - Consultant (Hybrid)Location: Blythewood, SCDuration: 12 MonthsJob Description:The Client is looking for Programmer – Consultant. This will be a hybrid role allowing the candidate the opportunity for remote work. The initial engagement will require on site to work with the client engineers and business specialists in a real-time development and maintenance mode.This assignment will support development of new business functions and troubleshooting, modification, and enhancement of existing functions in this environment within the existing the client application framework. Projects may include business logic supporting on-line systems, batch programming, data extraction, and reports involving all the client business areas. This engineer will work closely and will be involved with both the UI tiers which are MS .Net Applications (VB.Net, C#.Net) and the database tiers in both SQL and Oracle. Production trouble shooting support will be expected so some level of production support experience is required. This contractor will be expected to work with minimal supervision, will be in direct contact with business area specialists, develop technical approaches and designs, code, test, and support these functions. Communications skills must be excellent.Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Analyze the client phoenix ii, web service, and batch business applications
• Take the lead in analyzing and troubleshooting assigned system problems
• Propose solutions
• Code, test, promote, and interact with impacted users ensuring that solution meets requirements.
• Provide daily and weekly status to the development manager.

Required Skills:

• 8 years of Development with Microfocus Visual Cobol in Windows Server 2019/2022, batch and under IIS.
• 4 years of Development using Visual Studio 2019/2022 including the ability to use the debugger
• 4 years of Application programming against RDBMS (Oracle, SQL).

Skills:

• 5 of years Ability to write complex queries using SQL for Oracle and MS SQL DB.
• 2 of years IIS configuration/setup
• 1 of year Microsoft C# .NET

Required Education:

• Bachelor's degree in information technology related discipline with 8 years of experience or minimum 10 years related experience without degree.

Certifications:

• MS Technical Certifications will be factored in the selection process.
• Microfocus Certifications are a significant advantage.
