Program Support Specialist, Business and Applied Tech

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide program specific support to students, faculty and the Dean.

  • Subject to Dean approval, and in collaboration with program coordinators, develop draft course schedules utilizing available faculty.
  • As directed by the Dean and working closely with Centralized Scheduling Office, monitor enrollment and make recommendations regarding course additions and cancellations.
  • Monitor faculty loads (which may include course assignments and finalization process) to ensure compliance with College policy.
  • Track curriculum changes and monitor degree/certificate requirements.
  • If assigned to Nursing and Health Sciences, manage/monitor student clinical requirements, placement, and student compliance in regards to clinical site arrangements.
  • May assist faculty/program coordinators with creation, editing, and submission of program specific applications and inquiries, including submission of Illinois Community College Board Form 20 for new degrees and certificates.
  • Monitor student admission/program participation and progression/graduation requirements, as required by division.
  • Where applicable, work with Admissions and Faculty Coordinator in regards to program-specific applications and inquiries.
  • Provide accurate and timely responses to student inquiries regarding Division courses, programs, and admissions requirements.
  • May work with Admissions and Faculty Coordinator in regards to program-specific applications and inquiries.
  • Refer students as appropriate.
  • If assigned to Nursing and Health Sciences, may contact students to inform them they've met the admissions requirements and may register for classes.
  • Screen adjunct faculty syllabi; track adjunct faculty completion of roster verification midterm, final grades, and attendance.
  • Review and assist with program budgets.
  • Update and maintain program websites as appropriate.
  • Manage and maintain advisory committee database with agendas/minutes.
  • Maintain accurate program records and assist with re-accreditation process.
  • May review, communicate, and enforce content of affiliation agreements as appropriate.
  • May assist in development of articulation and academic partnerships with high schools, colleges, community, and employer groups.
  • If assigned to Nursing and Health Sciences, maintains a student database and monitors student health requirements to ensure student compliance with health program admissions policies and standards.
  • Participate in program specific events, marketing activities, meetings and committees.
  • May supervise Classified Staff and Student Workers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline required.
  • Bachelor's degree in one of the above disciplines preferred.

Experience:

  • Three (3) years experience working in one or more related disciplines required.
  • Strong verbal and written communications and active listening required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality required.
  • Ability to professionally represent the College and Division at community and student events required.
  • Attention to details and highly organized required.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to work autonomously as well as in teams required.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite including Excel and Outlook required.
  • Five (5) years experience working in related discipline preferred.
  • College-level teaching experience or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong Customer Service and ability to relate to a diverse population preferred.
  • Prior experience utilizing Datatel/Colleague, Business Objects, and Concur preferred.
Working Conditions:

Some local travel required. This position requires a background check and drug screen.

Hybrid Remote Eligible: Yes

Hiring Range: Starting pay begins at $23.87/hr. based on experience. Competitive starting pay is dependent on education and experience. College of DuPage also offers regular part-time positions a variety of fringe benefits including retirement benefits, access to holiday pay, personal time and other discounts on classes.
