Description

  • Works to help BPHC advance as an antiracist organization by meeting or exceeding the standards set by the BPHC Anti-Racism Policy.
  • Work with coalitions, city departments, and community organizations to plan and implement prevention programming using the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF).
  • Work with Center for Strategic Prevention Support (CSPS), SP prevention and treatment providers, and MDPH to conduct community assessments, implement grant activities, and evaluate results.
  • Serve as the primary contact for the MassCALL3 grant initiative. Strengthen linkages among local programs, initiatives, and coalitions addressing youth substance use.
  • Provide timely and high-quality completion of all grant deliverables, reports, and documentation required by MDPH. Activities will include fiscal management, community organizing, report writing, meeting coordination, group facilitation and training, legislative advocacy, billing oversight, technical assistance to community partners, and contract compliance.
  • Assist the Youth Prevention Program Director in grant preparation and fund development.
  • Represent the Office to the community, agencies, individuals, and other stakeholders. Work in a confidential capacity with the Youth Prevention Program Director.
  • Develop, implement, and manage projects related to the program for the provision of services and to ensure effective operations and compliance with established standards and contracted goals and objectives.
  • Contribute to the Director's policy development or legislative activities, providing strategic and content expertise.
  • Contribute to ongoing community prevention efforts across RSB.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Reports to the Youth Prevention Program Director of Community Prevention.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the role of public health in addressing racism, the social determinants of health, and inequities in health outcomes as well as strategies to advance racial justice and health equity.
  • Master's degree in public health or related field is required with 1 year of related experience OR BA/BS required with 3 years of related experience.
  • Experience with the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) preferred. Community Prevention (CPS) certification or willingness to complete certification in one year required.
  • Program evaluation experience preferred.
  • Experience in substance use prevention, community health planning, community organizing, and providing technical assistance is essential.
  • Strong group facilitation skills required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Leadership capability and demonstrated successful experience working with diverse populations is required. Experience working with youth preferred.
  • Bilingual language capability preferred.
