JOB SUMMARY

The Program Manager role is responsible for leading the successful introduction of new aerospace products from concept through production readiness. This role bridges engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain to ensure that new programs are launched on time, within budget, and to specification.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Program Leadership: Own the end-to-end NPI process, from RFQ through production handoff. Accountable for overall project success - including schedule, quality, and scope management. Ensure all project requirements and/or objectives are correctly gathered, understood and properly translated for execution. Recognize project Key Performance Indicators and manage the work within scope, quality, time and cost constraints.
  • Project Planning: Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and resource requirements. Work with stakeholders to define project road maps and deliverables. Develop and own project plan, establishing a road map with clear dates and clear deliverables. Clarify and communicate project objectives and success criteria.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams to ensure readiness at each NPI phase. Facilitate communication as appropriate to all involved and manage the stakeholders. This includes escalate issues to the next level of management.
  • Customer Interface: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during the NPI phase, managing expectations and communication. Accountable for customer satisfaction / relationship both internal and external as deemed relative or necessary to project success. Understand and exceed customer (internal or external) needs and expectations.
  • Manufacturing Readiness: Ensure that all machining processes, tooling, fixtures, and inspection plans are validated prior to production.
  • Supply Chain Integration: Coordinate sourcing and delivery of purchased components to align with build schedules.
  • Risk Management: Identify risks early and implement mitigation strategies to avoid delays or quality issues. Conduct project risk reviews and appropriate mitigation.
  • Documentation: Ensure all required documentation (FAIs, PPAPs, travelers, work instructions) is complete and compliant with aerospace standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Capture lessons learned and implement process improvements for future NPI programs.
  • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
  • Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Familiarity with customer portals and aerospace OEM requirements.
  • Experience with DFM/DFA principles.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrate high performance orientation, detail orientation, market knowledge and sound judgment.
  • Demonstrate ability to build and leverage partnerships, implement change and manage projects.
  • Advanced PC skills, including experience with ERP/MRP systems and project management tools.
  • Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in aerospace manufacturing.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a program or project management role.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, GD&T, and aerospace quality standards (AS9100, FAI, etc.).
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and project management tools.
  • PMP Certification preferred.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, experience and / or training.
