Position Summary: The Program Manager plays a key role in the development, implementation, and oversight of TNT/TMA's programs that serve the needs of local workers, , and visitors. The position is responsible for managing a portfolio of programs that promote transportation initiatives and improve regional connectivity.
Programs under the Program Manager's purview include:
North Lake Tahoe Express Airport Shuttle (NLTE)
North Tahoe Workforce Vanpool Program
Winter and Summer Park and Ride Programs
TART Marketing Program
Membership Program
This role involves collaboration with contractors, consultants, regional partners, and community members to ensure the effective delivery and continuous improvement of transportation programs. Work Environment:
This position offers a flexible work environment with a mix of remote and in-person work, including regular attendance at regional meetings and events. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
Program and Project Management
Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of key programs to align with TNT/TMA's mission and strategic goals.
Oversee day-to-day operations, marketing, outreach, and partner coordination.
Track program performance, prepare reports, and present results to the Board of Directors.
Manage budgets, contracts, and invoices; assist in funding applications and grant compliance.
Support strategic planning and implementation of new programs or services.
Communications & Outreach
Coordinate program marketing, media outreach, and public engagement to boost visibility and participation.
Participate in television and radio interviews promoting TMA programs.
Write and distribute TNT/TMA's quarterly newsletter and assist with the creation of marketing materials.
Represent TNT/TMA at regional meetings, public forums, and transportation planning sessions.
Plan the annual Membership Mixer and support efforts to engage members.
Distribute quarterly marketing materials to businesses throughout the region.
Maintain websites (TNT/TMA and Tahoe Truckee Transit) and keep content up to date.
Administrative Support
Assist the Executive Director with special projects, grant writing, and reporting.
Support the setup and facilitation of board meetings, including logistics, materials, and technology coordination.
Attend monthly TMA Board meetings.
Assist with office organization and general administrative tasks.
Participate in transportation planning efforts (e.g., TART Systems Plan, North Tahoe Trails Study).
Other duties as assigned by the executive director.
Qualifications & Skills:
Proven experience in program and/or project management.
Proven ability to take initiative and work independently.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
Familiarity with contract administration, budgeting, and grant or sponsorship management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Must possess a valid California driver's license and have access to a reliable personal vehicle for work-related travel.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds as part of regular job duties. Reasonable accommodations will be made as required by law.
Knowledge of or experience in transportation, marketing, or regional planning is a plus.
Experience with WordPress or website content management systems is desirable.
Education:
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
Compensation & Benefits:
Position Type: Full Time/ Exempt
Salary Range: 68,640-78,000
Retirement: 401(k) plan with 3% employer contribution, fully vested after two years
Health Benefits: Monthly health benefits stipend
Paid Time Off: 18 days of PTO annually, plus 10 paid holidays
