Program Manager For Ground Maneuver Product Line
BAE Systems is seeking a strong, experienced Program Manager to lead the obsolescence initiative for the Ground Maneuver Product Line. The Ground Maneuver Product Line includes the Armored Multi-purpose Vehicle (AMPV) and Bradley Fighting Vehicle (BFV). The ideal candidate will have Program Management vehicle lifecycle experience from design, development (hardware / software) through sustainment. The successful PM candidate will be responsible for establishing the strategy for, and executing the management of, all obsolescence solutions for the Ground Maneuver Product line Systems Technical Support (STS) program.
Location/Travel/Schedule:
The position is based out of Sterling Heights, Michigan.
This will be a Hybrid role where you can work from home 2 days each week and must be onsite 3 days each week.
This position will require up to 25% travel.
This role has a 9/80 schedule where you will have every other Friday off.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for establishing the strategy for and executing the management of all obsolescence solutions for the Ground Maneuver Product line as part of the Ground Maneuver Systems Technical Support (STS) team.
- Ensure obsolescence strategies and solution execution enable seamless and uninterrupted production for Ground Maneuver product line with the following objectives:
- Proactively reduce risk to production
- Modernize product line by future protecting
- Commonize solutions across product line (BFV/AMPV)
- Collaborate with other impacted programs (PIM/M88/etc.)
- Early coordination of efforts across all impacted functional stakeholders
- Provide leadership and programmatic management oversight of an obsolescence project team assuring the project meets financial, schedule, and technical objectives, and achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction
- Develop obsolescence program/project plans specifying goals, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources
- Coordination with production, fielding, and sustainment teams to transition designs from engineering data to fielded hardware including a focus on design for manufacturing
- Lead with a customer focus, building and maintaining relationships to support the delivery of customer requirements
- Communicate with all levels of BAE Systems senior management regarding program performance status (cost / schedule / resources / risk) as well as performance to annual financial objectives
- Manage program scope and cost estimating, including estimate to complete/estimate at completion (ETC/EAC) processes involving rigorous application of Earned Value Management tools
- Provide leadership and support to Earned Value Management, Master Planning Techniques (IMP/IMS) and Subcontract Management
- Identify and develop opportunities to increase the value of assigned project(s)
- Lead the development of capture plans and preparation of proposals in response to various customer requests
- Attract, motivate, and lead teams, from multiple sites and/or cultures, including industry partners and suppliers
- Lead and inspire diverse teams in a high tempo environment
- Develop and grow junior STS Program Managers
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering or technical field
- 10+ years experience in vehicle development, hardware and software development, qualification, production, and sustainment programs
- Experience in Vehicle Program/Project Management, developing program/project plans specifying goals, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources
- Experience in leading and managing multi-discipline project teams
- Experience in Program Scope Management and Cost Estimating, including estimate to complete/estimate at completion (ETC/EAC) processes
- Ability to communicate with all levels of BAE Systems senior management regarding program performance status (cost / schedule / resources / risk) as well as performance to annual financial objectives
- Ability to identify and develop opportunities to increase the value of the project(s) and to capture new projects
- Ability to build strong relationships and effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) at all levels within the customer community
- Ability to attract, motivate, lead, and inspire diverse teams
- Demonstrated excellent communications skills, both oral and written
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Masters in Engineering or MBA
- Experience launching vehicles in a production environment
- Experience supporting vehicle build and test events
- Experience with tracked combat vehicles
- Experience dealing with Government contracting process
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Experience in Business Case development, analysis, and presentation
- Experience in the application of Earned Value Management System, Master Planning Techniques (IMP/IMS), and Subcontract Management
- Ability to support new business capture, including proposal and ECP development
Pay Information:
Full-Time Salary Range: $146670 - $249330
