The PMO Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting on data related to project and program planning, budget, and performance. This role involves working closely with Program Management, Project Managers, stakeholders, and other team members to ensure that metrics are accurately captured and used to drive decision-making and continuous improvement within the organization. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. PMO Analyst is essential for ensuring that the Program Management Office operates efficiently by providing accurate data analysis and insightful reporting. This role supports decision-making and continuous improvement efforts, ultimately contributing to the success of the organization's projects and programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Collection and Analysis:
- Collect and analyze data on project performance, including efficiency, output, and outcome metrics.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity by implementing robust data collection procedures.
- Use statistical tools and software to visualize and analyze data and identify trends, patterns, and insights.
- Budget and Financial Analysis
- Continuously update and maintain program budgets, including tracking forecasted spend and actual expenditures.
- Provide detailed financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making.
- Identify and communicate budget variances.

- Reporting:
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to communicate key metrics to stakeholders.
- Prepare detailed reports on project performance, highlighting areas of success and opportunities for improvement.
- Present findings to senior management and other stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with project managers and other team members to understand their data needs and provide relevant insights.
- Participate in meetings with stakeholders to discuss metrics, obtain their concurrence, and show how the metrics are used.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure data systems and tools are effectively supporting the PMO's needs.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Conduct regular project management maturity assessments to identify strengths and weaknesses in the organization's project management practices.
- Recommend and implement improvements to data collection and analysis processes.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in business and metric analysis.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Statistics, or a related field.
- Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma) are a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, or a related field.
- Experience working in a PMO or project management environment is preferred.
- Experience supporting large-scale digital transformation initiatives is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI).

Position Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in business, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field and at least 5 years of project management, data analysis, business analysis, or similar role.

• Excellent planning and organization, project management and time management skills.
• Experience working with project management/task tracking tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira.
