Job Description

The Program Director is responsible for managing internal business projects and programs involving department or cross-functional teams of subject matter experts. Key responsibilities include delivering products through the design process to completion, planning and directing schedules and budgets, and monitoring projects from inception through delivery. The role may involve engaging and overseeing external vendors, assigning, directing, and monitoring system analysis and program staff.

This position focuses on project and program management rather than specialized functional expertise, although technical team members may be involved. The senior program management professional is responsible for overall governance across all operational and strategic project portfolios, demonstrating strong management and leadership skills. The role requires experience in presenting to C-level executives, driving structure and organization, and extensive knowledge of portfolio and project management tools and methodologies. The ability to quickly assimilate information, make informed decisions, and handle multiple priorities in ambiguous situations is essential. The Program Director manages strategic relationships with Corporate EPMO and IT, oversees issue escalation and resolution processes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Manage programs using staff and matrixed resources with oversight from AVP and VP as needed.
  • Serve as an industry Subject Matter Expert in the functional area and lead programs to meet critical needs.
  • Escalate gaps and barriers in implementation and compliance to senior management.
  • Develop business case methodologies for programs and coordinate the implementation of business strategies.
  • Collaborate and facilitate activities with other units at corporate and Molina Plans.
Job Qualifications

Required Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience: 7-9 years.

Preferred Education: Graduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience: 10+ years.

Preferred License, Certification, Association: CPHQ.

Pay Range: $80,412 - $188,164 / ANNUAL. Actual compensation may vary based on location, experience, education, and skills.
