Position Summary:

The Program Director is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and activities within a residential facility catering to youth. This 5 day a week, in-person role involves providing leadership, guidance, and support to residents, ensuring their safety, well-being, and adherence to program guidelines. The Program Director collaborates closely with staff members and members of the youth treatment team, to create a nurturing environment conducive to their growth and development. Additionally, they oversee administrative tasks, manage budgets, and maintain compliance with relevant regulations and policies. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and a commitment to empowering and advocating for young individuals in need of support and guidance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

? Provides overall administrative oversight and supervision to program staff in assigned programs, and maintains documentation of relevant supervisory issues.? Recruit, train, develop and supervise program staff. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment. ? Conduct monthly supervision and annual performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback. ? Create and post staffing schedules. Ensure the program maintains staffing ratios as required by licensing and state regulation for 24 hours- 7 days a week (including holidays).? Ensure the delivery of contracted services to youth.? Manage the program budget. Monitor expenditures and adjust as needed. Seek opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.? Stay informed about licensing requirements and ensure compliance. Implement and enforce safety and security protocols. Address any issues related to legal or regulatory compliance.? Build and maintain positive relationships with community organizations, schools, and other stakeholders. Collaborate with external agencies and professionals to enhance program effectiveness.? Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Regularly assess program outcomes and identify areas for enhancement.? Develop and implement crisis intervention protocols along with a multidisciplinary team. Respond effectively to emergencies and ensure the safety of residents and staff. Reviews and closes out all incident reports within established agency timeframes.? Maintain open communication channels with staff, residents, and families. Provide regular updates to the executive team and stakeholders.? Facilitate ongoing training for staff to enhance skills and knowledge. Stay informed about best practices in residential youth treatment.? Oversee the collection and analysis of data related to program performance. Use data to inform decision-making and improve outcomes.? Advocate for the needs and rights of youth in the program.? Comply with funding source, contract and or program's Annex A.? Complete required documentation within established timeframes per Federal, State, County, and agency regulations, policy and procedure.? Participate in team meetings regarding youth behaviors and ongoing service needs.Participate in the development of service plans, comprehensive assessments, discharge planning, and case conferences.? Coordinate interventions and services provided by multiple agencies, including within CFS programs ? Conduct regularly scheduled meetings with program staff.? Attend regular Residential Director's meetings.? Collect statistics and complete written reports as required.? Ensures that the physical site of the program is clean and orderly, as set forth in the policy and procedures. ? Conducts employee evaluations annually.? May provide specialized activities and functions specific to the program.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in relevant field (psychology, social work, public health, healthcare/social services administration, public administration, education, business administration, or healthcare policy), with 3 years' experience serving youth in a residential or inpatient hospital behavioral health treatment program of which at least one year is supervisory, or
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field (psychology, social work, public health, healthcare/social services administration, public administration, education, business administration, or healthcare policy, with 5 years' experience serving youth in a residential or inpatient hospital behavioral health treatment program of which at least one year is supervisory.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for up to 2 hours during documentation tasks, group meetings, and administrative tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, as residential counselors may need to assist residents with mobility challenges and participate in activities that involve physical movement.
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs.
  • Ability to assist youth with daily activities and participate in group recreational or therapeutic activities.
  • Ability to meet and fulfill all physical requirements of Handle with Care Training
  • Be comfortable working in various residential settings, including shared spaces and therapy rooms.
  • Provide assistance in the use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices for youth with specific needs.
  • Ability to use a computer, keyboard, and other office equipment with precision.
  • Visual acuity to review documents, input data, and perform detailed tasks.
  • Adequate hearing and speech capabilities to engage in conversations, presentations, and phone communication clearly and effectively.
