Qualifications:
- At least 21 years of age
- Minimum of one-year Assistant Director experience
- Minimum of an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education
- Ability to communicate positively with children, families, partners, and team members
- Proven success in working as a team member and leader of up to twenty people
- Ability to accept constructive criticism positively and with a learning attitude
- Embraces diversity, equity, and inclusiveness across cultures, religions, races, ethnicities, sex, and abilities
- Models professionalism and work ethics, demonstrating leadership by creating a positive environment for all staff and volunteers
- Oversees the operation of the childcare center, ensuring a high-quality, nurturing, educational, and safe environment for children
Program Management and Operations:
- Implements policies and procedures aligning with Caterpillar Corner Childcare's vision, mission, philosophy, and core values
- Ensures compliance with Michigan's Child Care Licensing Division and other relevant regulations
- Enforces policies when not followed
- Maintains compliance with licensing rules, CACFP, Early Head Start, Head Start, GSRP, and the Child Development and Care Subsidy Program
- Manages inspections and licensing renewal processes with the center owner
- Attends monthly EHS/HS/GSRP director meetings
- Plans professional development days, training, and FIP meetings
Hours vary between 7 am and 6 pm.
