Salary range: $64,350 - $66,000

Position Summary

The Program Director plays a critical role in the cradle-through-college and careers mission of Children's Aid Community Schools by ensuring high-quality expanding learning time opportunities are provided for kindergarten through fifth grade youth during out of school time at CS 61 Francisco Oller Community School. The Program Director reports directly to the Community School Director, and works collaboratively with Parent Engagement Coordinator, Social Worker, Youth Advocates, School Administration, Teachers, After-School Facilitators, and other site-based staff. The Program Director provides leadership by strategically planning youth activities and family engagement, coaching staff, monitoring the academic and social emotional growth of participants, working collaboratively with community partners and using data to inform program decisions.

Essential Duties
  • Oversee all aspects of the CBO\'s DYCD COMPASS Program at the Community School.
  • Lead strategic efforts to maintain and expand critical community partnerships for COMPASS Program.
  • Create structures and processes for effective communication between programs, particularly with DOE staff from host site and internal agency departments as well.
  • Work closely with the Community School Directors to develop program based on goals and needs of our Community Schools and surrounding community.
  • Establish program goals and outcome measures to determine the success of each program component.
  • Meet all paperwork requirements of funders, including attendance and enrollment data, reports, and outcomes. Additionally, provide information and reports as needed for CBO\'s internal processing and for principal & administration.
  • Model appropriate child, youth and adult development practices, and handle behavior concerns as needed.
  • Lead recruitment, hiring, training, supervision and evaluation of all additional staff employed through the COMPASS program.
  • Facilitate all meetings required of the COMPASS program, including weekly staff meetings.
  • Manage all related programmatic budgets and work closely with Community School Director and Budget Director to provide budget updates and reports as needed internally and for funder; support Office Manager in building systems for to track and maintain budget expenses and reports.
  • Work closely with Community School Directors to support the oversight of contractual partnerships with other CBOs, private, state and city agencies.
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships between COMPASS program and relevant community groups, school administrators, public officials, funders, parents and other critical stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as needed under the direction of the Community School Director.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School/ GED required; Bachelor\'s degree in education, child psychology, or related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with underserved youth, particularly middle-school-aged youth.
  • Minimum 5 years of full-time experience working with youth in a fast-paced, high-stress environment, 2 years working at a managerial level; prior experience with DYCD or Out of School Time programming is highly preferred.
Key Competencies
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic program planning and development.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and computer literacy, particularly experience working with data to drive program goals and implementation.
  • Bilingual (Spanish speaking) preferred.
  • Enthusiasm, creativity and initiative, a sense of humor and an ability to adapt and navigate school settings
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor\'s degree in Clinical Psychology (preferred) or related field; High School (preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of full-time experience working with youth in a fast-paced, high-stress environment (required); 2 years in a managerial role; prior DYCD or Out of School Time programming is highly preferred.
  • Skills: Decision Making (preferred); Attention to Detail (preferred).
