What we want
The Program Director is responsible for strategic leadership and overall administration of the Future Coaches of Texas Association (FCTA) program within the Texas A&M Thornton-McFerrin Coaching Academy (TMCA). This role includes strategic planning, program oversight, resource development, staff supervision, and stakeholder engagement to fulfill the mission of preparing future coaches through innovative programming and leadership development.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in education administration or a related field
Ten or more years of related experience in athletic administration, education leadership, or program management, including:
Demonstrated experience with Career and Technical Education (CTE) programming or student-led organizations
Experience in planning, coordinating, and executing large-scale events—such as conferences, workshops, or competitions—hosted at the school district, state, or national level, each involving 100 or more participants
Required Licenses and Certifications:
Principal or Athletic Administrator Certification or equivalent.
TEA Teaching Certification or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ten years of leadership experience as an Athletic Director and/or Assistant Athletic Director or equivalent.
Involved in leadership in national level educational or athletic organization or association.
Demonstrates strong connections and involvement within their community.
Prior experience with the Thornton-McFerrin Coaching Academy or similar programs.
Texas Athletic Administrator Certificate (THSADA)
Certified Master Athletic Administrator (NIAAA)
Master's degree in education administration or a related field.
Doctoral degree in education administration or a related field
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strategic thinking and leadership skills.
Strong verbal and written communication, public speaking, and supervisory skills.
Familiarity with national coaching organizations (e.g., NFHS, NIAAA).
Technical proficiency in MS Office and website content tools.
Ability to work independently, multitask, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Program Management and Leadership
Develops and implements strategic plans, goals, and operational policies for the FCTA program.
Leads and manages the program's advisory council.
Oversees the planning and delivery of program events, professional development workshops, and conferences.
Supervises full-time staff, graduate assistants, and student workers assigned to support the program while fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Maintains communication with stakeholders including school districts, state and national organizations (e.g., THSCA, THSADA, NIAAA), donors, sponsors, and other higher education and program partners.
Manages online content development and communication including newsletters and program websites.
Budget and Resource Management
Identifies, writes, and secures funding sources including grants and sponsorships to support program sustainability and growth.
Oversees program budgets, including planning, tracking, and approval of expenditures.
Analyzes program performance metrics and utilizes data to refine operations and report to stakeholders.
Program Monitoring and Reporting
Maintains detailed records of program participation, engagement metrics, and budget use.
Prepares monthly reports and annual program assessments aligned with institutional and sponsor expectations.
Outreach and Special Initiatives
Coordinates promotional activities and partnerships to increase program visibility and statewide reach.
Represents TMCA and FCTA at regional and national events; participates in strategic collaborations with coaching organizations.
Supports recruitment and onboarding of program participants and school partners.
Oversees creation and dissemination of multimedia content (photo/video) for marketing and educational use.

As one of four departments in the College of Education & Human Development, KNSM is currently home to over 1468 undergraduate students, 175 master's students, 57 doctoral students (1700 total), and 87 funded graduate assistants.
