Volunteers of America-Greater New York (VOA-Greater New York) is an anti-poverty organization working to end homelessness in the New York area by 2050. We operate over 60 programs across New York City, Northern New Jersey, and Westchester County, including emergency, transitional, and permanent housing. Our services extend to families experiencing homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, people living with HIV/AIDS, veterans, youth aging out of foster care, adults with behavioral health or substance use needs, and others in need, including a special education preschool program.

We are seeking a Program Director II to oversee our domestic violence program, Victory II, which provides comprehensive services and safe, anonymous housing for individuals and their children experiencing domestic violence. The Program Director ensures the program provides high-quality, integrated social services to help residents rebuild their lives, ensuring compliance with health, safety, contractual, and regulatory standards. The role includes staff supervision, program management, community and government relations, and clinical oversight.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A postgraduate degree and a clinical license (LCSW/LPC), with three to five years of relevant experience working with individuals or families affected by domestic violence.
  • Ability to manage multiple programs serving victims of domestic violence and their families.
  • Skills in program design, oversight, evaluation, personnel management, budgeting, property management, public relations, and government relations.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Ensure staff are credentialed to provide screening, risk assessment, and crisis intervention.
  • Oversee case management and therapeutic interventions, including family case management, counseling, youth support, housing search, and employment assistance.
  • Manage program quality, monitor surveys, and implement corrective actions.
  • Hire, train, supervise staff, and manage fiscal operations and facilities.
  • Handle community and governmental relations and manage grant applications.
  • Provide clinical supervision, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based practices.
  • Support residents' transition into the community with referrals and support services.
  • Address critical incidents with clinical oversight and intervention.
