Position Type:
This is a full-time, exempt position with a regular daytime schedule that includes on-call responsibilities. Lantern staff may be asked to change work schedules and hours depending on the operational needs of the site and the agency.
Euclid-Glenmore is a new development in East New York, Brooklyn, offering 81 supportive housing units to single adults exiting homelessness, funded by the Department of Health & Mental Hygiene.
Program Director (PD) Responsibilities:
The PD requires a thorough understanding of service delivery concepts, mental health systems, supervisory and administrative skills, and the ability to coordinate services effectively. Key skills include decision-making, attention to detail, strong communication, and computer literacy.
The PD supervises the Assistant Program Director and Program Associate, ensuring high-quality services that support housing stability and meet regulatory standards. They foster a positive, inclusive, and professional team environment emphasizing diversity, equity, and justice.
Essential Functions:
- Provide clinical supervision and coaching to staff.
- Promote professional development and review documentation standards.
- Conduct chart reviews and analyze dashboard data to track outcomes.
- Develop policies, tracking tools, and strategies for quality and accountability.
- Assist in developing treatment plans and safety assessments.
- Facilitate community resource referrals and partnerships.
- Implement supervision and reporting systems to meet standards.
- Support harm reduction approaches and staff training needs.
- Engage residents through visits, outings, and appointments.
- Collaborate with property management and support services to maintain housing stability.
- Coordinate with other departments for reporting and quality improvement.
- Develop community groups and programming.
- Manage staff hiring, training, and disciplinary actions.
- Lead staff meetings and crisis response efforts.
- Oversee incident reports and follow-up procedures.
- Manage daily program operations with the Assistant Program Director.
- Complete all required reports.
Education and Experience:
- MSW or MHC degree; license required within 1 year.
- Preferred: LMSW or LMHC.
- Minimum five years supervisory experience in social services.
- Experience with supportive housing, mental health, and substance use populations.
- Knowledge of relevant funders' regulations and standards.
- Strong clinical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Experience with databases and documentation.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, belonging, inclusion, and justice.
Preferred Experience:
- Managing property management relationships.
- Fiscal management and budget oversight.
- Experience with evidence-based models like Motivational Interviewing.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
The role operates within a supportive housing setting, serving individuals with complex health and mental health needs. Physical activities include standing, walking, sitting, and other movements, with specific vision and lifting requirements.
