Are you ready to embark on a new career endeavor?

Join The Doe Fund on our mission to break the cycles of homelessness, addiction, and criminal recidivism by providing holistic services, housing, and work opportunities to underserved populations including the formerly homeless and incarcerated, disconnected youth, veterans, and people living with AIDS. Our flagship transitional work program—Ready, Willing & Able—integrates paid work, occupational training, and holistic supportive services to facilitate an individual's return to mainstream society.

We are seeking a Program Director for the Crotona Park residence, a permanent supportive housing program for homeless men and women living with HIV/AIDS. The program is designed to provide long-term residential care and twenty-four-hour support services in a community environment that maximizes independence while ensuring their physical and emotional security and well-being. The majority of Crotona Park residents will be referred by the New York City HIV/AIDS Services Administration (HASA), with some referrals from the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA).

The Program Director will oversee and direct staff and operations. The successful candidate will have strong leadership, communication, and entrepreneurial skills, along with experience working with the HIV/AIDS population and familiarity with relevant New York City and State agencies and funding sources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily program operations, including maintenance, appearance, and safety of the facility
  • Manage the intake process and ensure the program operates at full capacity
  • Recruit, screen, and select direct care staff; supervise, support, and evaluate staff performance
  • Provide ongoing training for staff, including harm reduction, substance abuse, and mental health topics
  • Ensure compliance with HASA contract and performance standards
  • Monitor completion of records and reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Maintain up-to-date client case files
  • Establish and maintain relationships with other agencies and community organizations
  • Ensure staff provide adequate supportive case management services
  • Facilitate staff, clinical, and community meetings
  • Conduct internal audits and quality assurance checks
  • Develop and monitor the annual budget for the facility and program activities
  • Provide 24-hour crisis intervention as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a relevant field; Master's preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience working with homeless individuals, people living with HIV/AIDS, or those with substance abuse or mental health issues
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate staff
  • Excellent clinical and case management skills
  • Sensitivity to community issues and needs
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
  • High ethical standards, confidentiality, and personal integrity
  • Proficiency with computer applications
