The Program Director of Bronx Bridges is responsible for leading the Good Shepherd Services team in providing counseling and support services for Bronx Bridges students and supporting the Bronx Bridges Administrative team. The Program Director is also responsible for implementing, coordinating, and overseeing the COMPASS After School program.
REPORTS TO: Senior Vice President of Partnership Schools
HOURS: 35 Hours/Week; Exempt
SALARY: $65,000-$72,000/Year
Major Duties:
Collaborate with the principal, administrative team, and school staff to align support services and GSS activities with school goals and objectives.Provide individual and group counseling related to student academic progress.Offer daily crisis intervention for students dealing with personal or school issues affecting behavior and attendance, and connect them to appropriate resources.Provide staff with regular supervision, meetings, and professional development opportunities.Oversee the implementation and coordination of after-school enrichment activities and curricula.Ensure the program's compliance with DYCD, EXPAND ED, COMPASS, and COA accreditation requirements.Organize and manage special events for the after-school program, including securing space, food, travel, admissions, and supplies.Engage in family outreach and involvement as appropriate.Develop and implement workshops addressing student needs.Create linkages within the school and community.Participate in school-based teams or committees.Complete and submit monthly narrative and statistical reports.Record and monitor program attendance and goals.Monitor program expenditures.Maintain safety, security, and a welcoming atmosphere at the site.Attend staff meetings, professional development trainings, and weekly supervision.Collaborate with GSS Peer Programs and support departments.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and experience managing programs and staff.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience working with Community Based Organizations preferred.
- Experience coordinating after-school programs and working with DOE high schools preferred.
- Commitment to a strength-based and youth development approach.
