Compensation Type: Salaried Compensation: $53,876.12 Job Summary The Program Coordinator - Language Institute position provides support and implementation functions toward the continuous improvement and enrollment growth of Workforce Basic ESL, Basic ESL sequence course, and/or Basic ESL Elective & online programs. The program coordinator will serve as a primary internal staff member responsible for coordinating internal stakeholders, and working with external stakeholders (inclusive of employer partnerships, community partners & organizations) in implementation, and ensuring excellence, responsiveness, and agility in approach and service to achieve the desired agreed-upon outcomes. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Program Coordination

  • Implements and provides ongoing support for day-to-day Workforce Basic ESL, Basic ESL sequence course, and/or Basic ESL Elective & online programs.
  • Coordinates program functions and ensures the program is administered in accordance with policy and requirements.
  • Adjusts and customizes curriculum for all Language Institute programming.
  • Collaborates with instructors, clients, and applicable departmental staff to create and modify placement tests, course outlines, syllabi, and final exams.
  • Assists LI Supervisor and other team members to determine and communicate course schedule, purchase and duplicate materials, and support instructors.
  • Assists LI Supervisor in overseeing classroom, workplace, and online instruction.
  • Provides instructors with curriculum, textbooks, professional development, instructional materials, and other items.
  • Observes instructors and their delivery of curriculum and provides appropriate feedback to improve performance and the overall program.
  • Instructs a Basic ESL course at a minimum of twice a year.
  • Reviews and facilitates creation of high-level deliverables. Identifies and communicates the need for resources from outside the College (i.e. equipment, software, curriculum, contractual expertise).
  • Identifies improvements with the scope of work.
  • Leverages technology and data to improve the efficiency of project implementation.
Building Partnerships
  • Coordinates with LI Supervisor to build relationships and promote growth of the program with (a) other College departments and programs to provide support to and improve processes for students seeking to transition to College coursework and (b) social service agencies, businesses, and organizations for the purpose of recruiting potential students and (c) Workforce Innovation and Business Development teams to create strategic engagement plans for potential industry partners.
  • Serves as part of a work team on projects and initiatives for the benefit of the department, division, and the college.
  • Engages all partners to ensure industry needs are aligned and expectations are being met.
  • Assesses the needs of partners to promote various approaches to on-site and other methods of delivery of Basic ESL programs.
  • Assists with data collection, data analysis, and communication activities.
Reporting and Program Management Support
  • Assists internal partners, LI program coordinator(s), and leadership with projects in order to deliver them within scope, within budget, and with high levels of quality throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Completes program reports.
  • Identifies best practices from peer institutions, industry partners, and communities of interest that support the overall program scope and quality.
  • Prepares and presents status reports to all levels of management.
  • Confirms the accuracy of deliverables with stakeholders.
  • Coordinates reporting and creates documentation that follows program management lifecycles.
  • Assists the LI Supervisor in utilizing program quality metrics and measures expected outcomes (i.e., required completion dates, budget limits, and quality standards).
  • Identifies program issues that require resolution and creates an issue list. Escalates issues for resolution when appropriate.
  • Engages with internal stakeholders and communicates any barriers to ensuring classes are functioning to achieve the approved and expected outcomes. Develops options for decision makers.
  • Creates and monitors engaging, informative, and timely posts on Language Institute's various social media platforms.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Two (2) years in teaching Adult ESL, supporting and contributing to high-level projects from design through implementation.
Additional Information
  • State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).
