Job DescriptionThe DOT's Bike Share & Shared Mobility unit is responsible for planning, oversight, and management of the Citi Bike program, dockless e-scooter and e-bike-share services, app-based e-moped rental services, and other emerging micro-mobility share services. Citi Bike, New York City's bike share program, currently operates in four boroughs with over 37,000 bicycles and 2,000 stations, and is expanding. The program is a vital part of NYC's transportation network, with more than half of the city's population living within a 5-minute walk of a station. Starting in 2025, over 250 new stations and 2,900 bikes will be added in the Bronx, Queens, and Brooklyn. DOT also manages an e-scooter share program with three vendors, with over 10,000 e-scooters and more than 6 million trips since 2021. The agency is planning and installing new designated parking locations for e-scooters and has implemented a regulatory framework for e-moped services.
ResponsibilitiesAssignment Level III requires an additional year of experience; Level IV requires two additional years.
Preferred SkillsExperience with community-based projects in a major metro area, attention to detail, interest in transportation planning, bike share, cycling, and ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
