The Coding School (TCS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on preparing the next generation for the future of work through computer science training and workforce development. As pioneers in emerging technology education, we believe there is a critical - and unmet - need to provide students with the skills and knowledge in the technologies that will change the nature of how we conduct business, how we interact and connect, and society at large. We have a wide portfolio of initiatives, including flagship programs in Quantum Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and Big Data. To date, we have taught over 40,000 students from 125 countries, including K-12 students and educators, community college and university students, and members of the workforce.

What We're Looking For

TCS is seeking a Program Coordinator to assist in the execution and growth of TCS educational programs. This role will work closely with TCS Program Managers to help manage, evaluate and expand TCS programs, including our Quantum Computing program, Qubit x Qubit, and Artificial Intelligence program, TRAIN. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for the development and execution of a subset of TCS programs. Programs range from in-person AI camps for 30 middle school students to $1+ million programs that reach 10,000+ student cohorts. The Program Coordinator will support the Program team s day-to-day operations, including hiring instructors and teaching assistants; conducting student recruitment; setting up technology; student selection and onboarding; conducting outreach to potential TCS partners; and working with the Curriculum teams to ensure curriculum is effective. The position does include evening and weekend work, and may include occasional travel. TCS prides itself on the high-quality nature of its programs; thus, the Program Coordinator must be detail oriented, organized, and always thinking about how to improve the programs.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Manage day-to-day program operations, including communications with participants; technology set-up and maintenance; student onboarding and support; and external partner engagement;
  • Moderate training sessions, ensuring that instructors, teaching assistants and students are fully supported;
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of programs through surveys, interviews and other feedback mechanisms, analyzing data and helping to iterate on program design to increase effectiveness;
  • Assist with hiring and overseeing teaching teams, coordinating training sessions, and creating teaching schedules;
  • Conduct and support strategic outreach: identifying key targets, developing and maintaining relationships with external partners, including industry, universities, schools and districts;
  • Join key meetings with current and potential partners to take comprehensive notes and ensure all action items are captured and delivered; Maintain effective communication with key stakeholders, including drafting personalized, thoughtful follow-up emails to ensure continued partnership and mutual growth;
  • Maintain information and data workflows using CRM and related tools, managing contacts, logging interactions, and leveraging data for strategic decision-making;
  • Handle incoming requests from external audiences, managing and responding to inquiries, directing requests to the appropriate team members, and ensuring comprehensive, timely communication to all stakeholders;
  • Participate in special projects, such as educational research.

Required skills / experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional work experience (work in start-ups, education, or non-profits a plus);
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on several projects, often with tight deadlines;
  • Exceptional time management skills and are known for your excellent verbal and written communication;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Suite (spreadsheets, documents, and slide decks);
  • Attention to detail and the willingness to double-check work before submission;
  • Ability to travel for programs, special events, or partner engagements;
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends regularly for program needs;
  • Thrive in fast-paced and dynamic environments;
  • Superior analytical skills and problem solving abilities;
  • Ability to take initiative and make decisions independently;
  • Willingness to learn new skills, having an open-mind, and receptiveness to feedback;
  • Prior knowledge of STEM is not required.

Preferred skills/experience:

  • Experience with CRM software (such as AirTable, HubSpot, Salesforce, etc), LMS platforms (such as Canvas), project management software (such as Asana, Monday.com, etc), design software (such as Canva, Figma, or Adobe CC), or similar tools
  • Familiarity with project management methodology
