Program Assistant - Senior Nutrition Organization: North Valley Community Food Bank Location: Colusa, CA About Us: The Ministerial Association of Colusa County is a faith-based community-based organization that associates 23 Colusa County ministers and their churches as they promote food security, family stability and social health and wellness within the communities they serve and beyond. Through various programs and initiatives, we aim to address health disparities and improve access to quality healthcare for all individuals. Position Overview The Program Assistant for the Senior Nutrition Program plays a crucial role in supporting the Program Coordinator, as they ensure a successful and compliant program offering to seniors. This position involves assisting with the day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with funding regulations, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders. The Program Assistant collaborates closely with County authorities to provide essential services to eligible County Seniors. Key Responsibilities:
Program Coordination: - Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the Senior Nutrition and Homebound Meals program.
- Coordinate with meal vendors, packaging, and delivery schedules to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
- Driving for meal delivery, pick up, and as needed
- Maintain accurate records of meal recipients, dietary preferences, and delivery routes.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards, including washing dishes, sweeping, mopping, restroom sanitation, other cleaning as part of overall facility upkeep
- Complete health assessments for both congregate and homebound seniors on regular and required intervals, providing resources and referrals as needed.
Contractual, Federal, and State Compliance: - Ensure adherence to Federal Title III funding regulations and guidelines set forth by the California Older Americans Act.
- Stay updated on relevant regulations and policies to ensure program compliance.
- Implement procedures to verify program eligibility requirements for recipients.
- Collaborate with County officials to facilitate the provision of homebound meals and support services to eligible individuals.
Stakeholder Communication: - Assist Program Coordinator in contact between the organization and County agencies.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including seniors, families, and community partners as needed.
- Assist in submitting required reports to the County.
Program Improvement: - Collaborate with County representatives to develop and implement strategies for program enhancement and expansion.
- Identify areas for improvement and propose solutions to enhance program effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Familiarity with nutrition programs or social services is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management software.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
- Willing to train and certify as a Community Health Worker (CHW)
- Able to work in both Colusa and Williams
