Major responsibility is to deliver quality and developmentally appropriate programs, activities, services, and special events. This position fills in areas where and when needed to assist clubs with basic programming and operational needs. Provide a safe, fun learning environment that enables members to grow and develop into responsible adults.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the delivery of BGCB core programs, activities, and events as directed.
  • Provide supervision and discipline of members participating in programs and services within the program area as well as throughout the clubhouse as deemed appropriate.
  • Participate in collaborative programs and events with staff from other clubhouse departments, BGCB clubhouses, and community organizations as appropriate.
  • Secure and maintain materials, equipment, and other resources belonging to the program area(s). Maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Participate in individual and group supervision sessions; engage in professional development opportunities as appropriate.
  • Assist in evaluating our impact through participation in various assessment efforts, including the annual member survey.
  • Travel frequently between sites and to activities as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Operations or Program Area Director.
  • Model healthy behaviors and promote an active, healthy lifestyle among youth/teens, aligning with BGCB priorities.
  • Embrace and promote an inclusive environment where youth/teens of all abilities can succeed and participate.
  • Participate in annual professional development to enhance skills in youth development.
  • Ensure a safe environment free from sexual, physical, or emotional abuse.
  • Position Requirements (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Work Demand):

    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Experience in providing recreation programs for youth.
    • Knowledge of youth development principles.
    • CPR/FA certification or willingness to obtain it.
    • Ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and web applications preferred.
    • Ability to work effectively with youth and families from diverse backgrounds.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Flexibility to work clubhouse hours, especially as seasons and needs change.
