    UPMC-approved national certification is preferred

    Must hold current RN licensure in:

      \n
    • \n

      The state where the facility is located, or

      \n
    • \n
    • \n

      A state covered by a licensure compact agreement with the facility's state

    • \n
    \n
  • \n
  • \n

    CPR must meet AHA standards, including:

    \n
      \n
    • \n

      A didactic component

      \n
    • \n
    • \n

      A skills demonstration component

      \n
    • \n
    • \n

      Completed within 30 days of hire

      \n

    \n

  • \n

    Graduate Nurses (GNs) must:

    \n
      \n
    • \n

      Take the licensure exam within 6 months of hire or within one year of graduation, whichever comes first

      \n
    • \n
    • \n

      Note: TPPs are valid for one year from graduation, not from issue date

      \n
    • \n
    • \n

      GNs who do not meet this timeline may be terminated or demoted from the GN position at the discretion of the Business Unit (BU)
