Position Summary: The Baily Finished Goods Packing employee plays a crucial role in ensuring that the company's finished products meet or exceed customer expectations. This hands-on position involves working closely with Leads, Supervisors, and team members to uphold high product quality and ensure accurate packing. A successful packing employee will contribute to the overall efficiency and success of the company by ensuring that every order is packed and shipped to specification. Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect Products and Packaging: Examine containers, materials, and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and packing specifications.
- Accurate Counting and Weighing: Ensure finished product cases are properly counted, filled, and weighed to meet the required specifications.
- Seal and Secure Packaging: Use approved glues, tapes, and hand tools to seal containers or packing materials.
- Assemble Packaging Materials: Assemble, line, and pad cartons, crates, and other containers using appropriate tools and techniques to ensure secure packaging.
- Labeling: Mark and label containers accurately using appropriate labeling tools and methods.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Keep materials, supplies, and work areas clean using approved cleaning solutions, hand tools, and procedures.
- Manage Defective Products: Identify and remove defective or completed products, placing them in designated areas, including using equipment such as conveyers or pallet jacks.
- Load Packaging Equipment: Load materials into packaging equipment, including tape dispensers, box erectors, and flow wrap machines.
- Troubleshooting and Reporting: Notify supervisors and maintenance teams in the event of any mechanical issues or breakdowns.
- Compliance: Strictly adhere to cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) and HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) procedures.
- Assist with Equipment Setup and Breakdown: Support the setup and/or breakdown of production equipment as needed, following supervisor instructions.
- Collaboration and Reporting: Communicate relevant information to supervisors, plant managers, and other team members, ensuring that any issues or opportunities for improvement are addressed.

Required Education and Experience:
- Preferred experience in food plant production, but not required
- High School Diploma or equivalent education
Work Environment & Potential Hazards:
- Regularly works in wet, humid conditions (non-weather-related)
- Works near moving mechanical parts
- May be exposed to extreme heat and/or cold (non-weather-related)
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequent use of hands for handling, gripping, and manipulating materials
- Ability to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly
- Visual abilities required: close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
- OSHA-compliant specialty footwear
- Hair and beard nets
- Smocks (in USDA-regulated facilities)
- Gloves
Position Type & Expected Hours of Work:
