Production Underwriter (Northeast Territory)AmTrust Financial is looking for a Senior Production Underwriter for our Northeast Territory.The Senior Underwriter administers the underwriting and servicing of new and renewal accounts for assigned middle market agents and producers in compliance with Company underwriting, authority, and pricing standards.Those within 50 miles of an AmTrust office will be expected to abide by a hybrid schedule.ResponsibilitiesWrite and retain a profitable book of business through solid risk analysis, pricing, marketing, and servicing. Maintain compliance with state filings and adhere to corporate underwriting and pricing guidelines. Operate within written authority grant and make referrals to Middle Market and Home Office Underwriting as required.Collaborate closely with members of the Middle Market team. Communicate with the team on marketplace, technical, and relationship trends and knowledge.In collaboration with distribution partners, develop and implement a marketing and pipelining plan for key agents in the geographic area and share accountability in meeting financial goals.Coach agents on underwriting appetite and protocols in conjunction with corporate training guidelines.Actively participate in industry events such as agency or association conventions.Provide professional, timely, and courteous communication and service to external clients and cross-departmental staff to successfully write/retain business and handle inquiries from policyholders and agents.Provide pertinent information and guidance to support staff required to process coverage requests in accordance with service guidelines.Qualifications7+ years of commercial lines property and casualty experienceBachelor's degree from an accredited college or universityStrong negotiation skills and marketing experienceDemonstrated experience with and expert technical knowledge of middle market organizationsTechnical command of underwriting liability, property, automobile, and umbrella exposures of middle market organizationsAbility to interpret and analyze information to make informed risk and pricing decisionsRespect for confidential informationExcellent organizational and time management skillsEnjoyment of being part of a team of like-minded insurance professionalsAbility to travel within the territory and to the Home Office as requiredCPCU or CIC designation preferredThis job description provides a general overview and does not list all activities, duties, or responsibilities.
