Job Overview: Linde U.S. Gases is currently seeking a
Production Technician in Theodore, Alabama. The production technician will be responsible for safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a Cryogenic Air Separation plant. This role will include, but not be limited to, perform routine operations, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs. The candidate must be willing to work across departmental lines in mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systems.
Primary Responsibilities: - Operation, maintenance and repairs to continuously supply products in quantities and qualities, while safely and economically complying with all policies, environmental regulations, quality standards and production goals.
- Reading and interpreting Electrical Schematics, Electrical One-Line Diagrams and Process Piping/Instrumentation Diagrams.
- Complete all required written and hands-on training per assigned timelines.
- Learn and operate computer-controlled system for the plant.
- Perform calibration of analyzers and troubleshoot instrumentation control systems.
- Safely operate, troubleshoot, and maintain all rotating equipment and associated mechanical systems including compressors, pumps, fans, blowers, boiler systems, and valves.
- Conduct water tests on cooling tower/boilers and make necessary adjustments needed to maintain proper chemistry.
- Perform lockout tagout correctly and complete work permits, overseeing contractors as necessary.
Qualifications: Qualifications: - High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- 2 or more years of Production Operations experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of electricity, electrical systems and motors is preferred.
- Have a working knowledge of computers and typical computer programs (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft applications).
- Proficiency with a variety of hand tools, meters, instrument calibration equipment etc.
- Must be able to climb ladders and steps, lift 50 lbs. and work at heights.
- Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment.
- Normal work schedule is M-F dayshift (4-10hr days). However, must be able to work overtime, weekends and be able to respond to call-ins as needed during unplanned operational conditions or unplanned plant shutdowns.
