Masis Professional Group is recruiting for a Bakery Production Supervisor on behalf of our client located in Leominster, MA. This is a direct hire opportunity offering a competitive salary and benefits package.
Bakery Production Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the bakery's production, ensuring the efficient creation of high-quality baked goods while maintaining safety and quality standards. Ability to work in fast-paced environment, you will spend a significant portion of your time on the production floor monitoring operations, but also handle administrative tasks in an office setting. Physical requirements may include the ability to lift heavy items, stand for extended periods, and work in varying temperatures.
Key Responsibilities of the Bakery Supervisor:
- Supervising and coordinating staff: Leading and motivating the production team, assigning tasks, and ensuring adherence to procedures.
- Production scheduling and management: Assists in planning and adjusting workflows and employee schedules to meet deadlines and optimize efficiency.
- Quality control: Ensuring all products meet the bakery's standards for quality, consistency, and appearance.
- Food safety and sanitation: Maintaining a Clean/Food Safe environment and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, including HACCP, PCQI and GMP.
- Equipment maintenance: Overseeing the operation of bakery machinery and coordinating maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Training and development: Providing instruction and guidance to new hires and fostering a positive work environment.
- Problem-solving: Addressing issues promptly, including equipment malfunctions or production delays.
- Reporting: Maintaining accurate production records and providing reports to management.
Essential Skills and Qualifications of the Bakery Supervisor:
- Experience: Previous experience in a bakery setting, including supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of baking techniques, ingredients, and production processes.
- Ability to motivate, delegate, and build a high-performing team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff and service departments. bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control procedures
- Keen attention to detail to ensure quality control and accuracy in bakery operations.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities to address challenges effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Education:
- Minimum: high school diploma or equivalent – with culinary arts or baking/pastry arts training and/or a degree in Food Science or Industrial Management a plus.
