Who We Are and What We Do

GNS Noth America was established in 2009. Our core business is in conventional stamping, hot stamping, welding, and assembly. Our tool and die capability offer simulation and full design and build activities.

Hot and Conventional Stamping

GNS offers a complete range of stamping equipment. Our stamping facilities can cater to any required automotive and industrial stamping requirements. In our automotive operations, we have a full range of stamping capabilities in the 100 ton to 800 ton range, in multiple locations. Our stamping capabilities span a variety of metals.

Laser Cutting

GNS is a recognized leader in the use of laser technologies, GNS utilizes multi-axis laser cutting technology. Our multi-axis lasers are used for both prototyping and our large volume production for the automotive industry. In addition to cutting flat metal, GNS provides trimming and hole piercing services for three-dimensional parts. Our lasers have the versatility to cut a variety of metals with varying thickness and degrees of complexity.

Welding

At GNS, we use spot welding in the welding of Ultra High Strength Steel and Press Hardening parts. Our welding and assembly cells are highly automated. We use automated robots to perform several of the most complex and precise operations inside the welding cells to achieve maximum cost reduction and ensure we produce the highest quality products for our customers.

Work Schedule: This position will be a split shift between 2nd and 3rd shift hours.

Position Summary:

The Production Superintendent oversees and coordinates daily production operations within an automotive manufacturing facility on the off-shift, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and cost objectives are met. This role requires a strong technical background in hot stamping, laser cutting, welding, and assembly processes, particularly in high-volume automotive supply environments. The Superintendent will lead production supervisors and teams, focusing on process improvements, workforce management, and operational excellence.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise, Communicate and coordinate all production activities on the off-shift across hot stamping, laser, welding, and assembly lines.
  • Drive safety-first culture and ensure compliance with EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) regulations.
  • Ensure production meets quality standards, delivery schedules, and cost targets.
  • Manage production Supervisors and workforce, including training, coaching, performance management, accountability and scheduling.
  • Analyze production metrics and implement continuous improvement strategies using Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, quality, and logistics teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Monitor and report KPIs related to OEE, scrap rates, downtime, labor efficiency, and throughput.
  • Support new product launches, line modifications, and technology upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with customer and industry standards such as IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience:

  • Experience working for or with Tier 1 or Tier 2 automotive suppliers
  • ISO and IATF 16949 background.
  • Working knowledge of MIOSHA standards.
  • Familiar with Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
  • Background in Hot Stamping, Laser, Welding/Assembly and/or comparable manufacturing technologies preferred.
  • Degree Preferred but not required; minimum of Five years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Technical & Leadership Skills:

  • Proven leadership abilities in managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Familiarity with robotics, PLC controls, and automated manufacturing systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TPM, and Just-in-Time (JIT).
  • Excellent problem-solving, root cause analysis, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing software (ERP/MES systems), Microsoft Office, and production reporting tools.

Physical Demands: While performing duties of this job, would occasionally be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Employee may be required to climb stairs as needed to access various areas of the building. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus. Overtime may be necessary as work load's dictate. This may include weekdays, weekends and/or holidays.

Work Environments: Workers split their time between the production floor and the office area. They may be required to travel to and visit a customer's facility and/or production facility. Job requires dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situations. Employees may be subject to random drug and alcohol testing, pre-employment physical and background checks.
