Job Description
Essential Job Functions:
Develops and oversees production teammates and other Managers & Supervisors, to ensure production goals are achieved and finished product is shipped out in a timely manner for on time deliveries.Develops and implements continuous improvement processes and lean manufacturing programs and procedures that will result in improved quality and increased productivity.Develops positive employee relations practices, to maintain a Union Free Environment.Overall responsible for Food Safety Audits.Implement cost effective systems that will control operating expenditures.Develops safety programs and processes to meet OSHA requirements, which will reduce exposure to accidents and achieve a zero-accident record.Incorporates a shop floor philosophy that leads to a culture of organization and plant cleanliness (I.E. 5S implementation).Conducts meetings with plant teammates.Assists in development of all budgets for the plant.Recommends and participates in the selection of all new plant equipment or improvements.Participates in the selection of qualified candidates for new hire positions.Reviews and analyzes production, Quality Assurance, and operational reports to determine cause of non-conformity with product specifications.Must attend various Management meetings.Travels on occasion to other plants or for other company business.Assists Maintenance with technical concerns.Performs other various duties as may be assigned.Requirements:
Knowledge: Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is a plus.Experience: Requires 5 to 7 years of Management experience in Manufacturing.Leadership: Practices the key principles associated with managing teammates in a union free environment; able to communicate to individuals or small groups in an honest, straight forward manner.Physical: Requires walking and standing on Plant Floor approximately 50% of the time.Environmental: Requires capability to perform essential job functions in a plant environment which includes exposure to dust, fumes, noise, and fluctuation of temperature.Langston Bag of Peoria is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
