The Production Planning Manager is a key role to the Columbus Forge Disks operational team, responsible for leading our planning and scheduling team within the Materials Management organization.
This key member will drive strategic and tactical activities to manage and improve on-time delivery, creation of production schedules throughout critical operations, improve overdue demand, and reduce inventory across the module center.
The Production Planning Manager motivates and engages their teams to continuously improve and exceed customer expectations.
- Manages both the production control and material planning teams, and owns the establishment and execution of short to medium-term operational plans.
- Creates and maintains master production schedule (MPS); facilitate the Supply Review meetings; review MPS with Manufacturing, Programs, Demand Planning, Procurement and associated representatives
- Leads in the implementation of operational plans and prepares data for raw material, vendor support; leads the implementation within the module center for Kinaxis Rapid Response.
- Utilize consensus decision-making techniques to arrive at the best possible MPS to support the business goals and objectives.
- Oversee the management of inter/intra-plant work in process (WIP), promise dating, and expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery and flow.
- Leads in the implementation of plans to minimize risks for short- and long-range shortages and escalates when needed to ensure successful customer delivery; creates and executes plan for every part through creation of production schedules.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree and minimum 10 years experience in an engineering, manufacturing, materials management, production control management or closely related industrial environment OR a Master's degree and minimum 7 years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing, materials management, production control management or closely related industrial environment
- In absence of a degree, 14 years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing, materials management, production control management or closely related industrial environment
- Experience in inventory management and delivery assurance
- Experience leveraging internal customer focus, relationship development and communication skills for continuous improvement, business and team success
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- U.S. Citizen - U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Qualifications We Prefer:
- CORE or equivalent certification including process maturity development and root cause corrective action methods and tools
- Demonstrated experience using SAP and analytical skills to drive results
- Demonstrated success in creating an engaged workforce and developing people
